Work Less, Earn More As An Infoproduct Publisher
April 27, 2008
There’s no doubt, publishing information products to sell online is a thriving, exciting and very rewarding business.
For many though, the product development and marketing curve simply seems too steep.
How do you find the time to publish products given the time crunch in most of our lives?
There Is Another Way
Many of us were brought up to value hard work.
Our parents, grandparents and school system hard coded our brains to believe that if we just work a little harder than the next guy - we’ll get ahead.
I’m not about to tell you that hard work doesn’t pay off, but it certainly won’t pay off on its own.
Another saying - work smarter, not harder is more to the point.
You have to have a plan that works - I call this mastering the fundamentals.
Once you mastered the fundamentals, you need to suspend your disbelief for a period and target your plan ahead of your competition - ahead of what is already going on in the world around you.
If you are ready to learn both the fundamentals and master the steps outlined below turning your dreams of being a home-based information publishing entrepreneur into reality - then pick up a copy of:
Why Write an eBook?

Why Write an eBook?
by: Karen Martin
It’s not true that everything that has been said has already been written. Since that unfortunate axiom came into use, the whole universe has changed. Technology has changed, ideas have changed, and the mindsets of entire nations have changed.
The fact is that this is the perfect time to write an ebook. What the publishing industry needs are people who can tap into the world as it is today - innovative thinkers who can make the leap into the new millennium and figure out how to solve old problems in a new way. Ebooks are a new and powerful tool for original thinkers with fresh ideas to disseminate information to the millions of people who are struggling to figure out how to do a plethora of different things.
Let’s say you already have a brilliant idea, and the knowledge to back it up that will enable you to write an exceptional ebook. You may be sitting at your computer staring at a blank screen wondering, “Why? Why should I go through all the trouble of writing my ebook when it’s so impossible to get anything published these days?
Re-fresh, Re-hash, Re-write
April 26, 2008
You are running out of ideas, you sit down in front of your computer and stare at the blank screen with a blank mind.
Your fingers are idly waiting for some action. Writer’s block? Perhaps.
You must have an "Ideas " file. Better yet, go over your article file. There must be a title that catches your attention. Open the file and go over the titles. See a title from years ago? Does it still appeal to today’s readers with a bit of retouching?
Hmmmm?
Ask yourself, what audience did you write this for? Is it possible to re-arrange it for another age group, an interest group, or add a twist to give it a different flavor and make it current for the same group you wrote it for. Present it with a fresh perspective. What other insights have you gained since you wrote this article?
Take the subject of diet or nutrition. The different age groups have different dietary and nutritional requirements. Add to this lifestyle. Not everyone subscribes to the same patterns of living. This topic has potentials for expansion.
What Employers Look For In A Freelance Writer

What Employers Look For In A Freelance Writer
by: Amber McNaught
Freelance writing is as much about selling yourself as it is about writing. With this in mind, we asked some of the employers who use our site, and others like it, just what it is that they look for in a freelance writer. Here’s what they told us:
1. Employers won’t go looking for the information they need
“A lot of the freelancers who replied to my advert just sent me their quote and nothing else,” says Angel, who advertised for a freelancer in July. “There was absolutely nothing to set them apart from all of the other writers who responded, and I’d have had to contact them with questions to try and get the information I needed out of them. Needless to say, I didn’t bother. I employed one of the writers who took the time to tell me a bit about herself, and why she was right for the job.”
2. Employers won’t ask the same question twice
If an employer asks a specific question: “what’s your writing experience?” say, or “who have you worked for before?” they expect an answer. Strangely, not all freelancers give them that answer.

So You Need Some Inspiration? Try Some RPC: Risk, Passion and Creativity!
by: Emily Hanlon
You want to write. You really do. But the passion you feel never gets translated into actual writing. And if it does, it doesn’t last very long. You run out of steam.
There are reasons for this. First, you may be writing out of your conscious mind. Another problem for many writers is that they don’t have enough technical facility with the craft of writing to know how to develop a piece. That can be taught, but technical facility alone won’t do the trick. Technical facility lies in the domain of the left brain, and you’ll give the Inner Critic an open season if you fixate on technique alone. But technique fed by passion is unstoppable.
Passion = Creativity and Creativity = Passion
Think of what happens when you are passionately, lustfully in love. Are you not amazed at the risks you take to be with your beloved? Are you not amazed by how wonderful and beautiful you feel? Are you not amazed at the creativity that is unleashed all around? Passion, risk, belief in self—these are paramount to the creative experience.
How to Develop a Killer News Hook
April 25, 2008
When you are going to write a press release probably the most important thing you can do is create a killer news hook. A press release without a news hook is just blatant advertising, plain and simple. There is nothing that turns off journalists more than a press release that’s just advertising, and when you turn them off, they’re often off for good.
So, with this in mind, creating a news hook for your press release and media plan in general is probably the most important thing that you can do. But, how do you do it?
A news hook can be defined as the property in your press release that really makes a person read it and say, "I’m glad that I read this. This is really news." A news hook does not directly try to sell something, but to put some real news in front of the reader and encourage them to learn more about you.
If you are a major company, almost anything you do could be considered news. Take Google, for example. Everything they announce tends to be front-page news, no matter how small it is. However, your probably not so lucky, so you have to look pretty had.
Ten Tips For Budding Authors

Ten Tips For Budding Authors
by: Kevin Hart
1. For me the most important tip is to write, write every day, 365 days a year. Remember practice makes perfect.
2. Very few authors are published on their first attempt; it’s a hard slog and you’ll often want to pact the whole writing business in. It’s then you’ve got to remember patience and perseverance.
3. If you are serious about writing as a career then treat it as such. If you wanted to be a doctor, lawyer, plumber, chef then you’d expect to have to learn the trade. Why should writing be any different? It will pay you to visit workshops and listen to what successful authors have to say. Learn from the masters.
4. I’m a member of a writers group and for me it is essential it helps feed me. Also visit sites like www.abcwritersnetwork.co.uk where you will learn about current creative writing contests. Use these contests to help hone your skills. If you are involved in promoting creative writing locally let them know they will advertise the event for you free of charge.
Branding, Control, and Results - Submit Articles in Your Own Name
April 25, 2008
Article distribution is currently booming on the internet. Authors do it for a number of reasons:
- It is a good way to be picked up by the search engines.
- The backlinks from your resource box can help your search engine position.
- You have the possibility of secondary traffic if your article is picked up by a popular website or ezine.
Various products and services have become available that help you distribute your articles to the 100s of article directories and mailing lists.
a) Software that speeds up maunal submission, or can in some cases do this automatically.
b) Services that distribute articles in your name
c) Services that distribute articles on your behalf, but in their own name.
The Double Edged Sword
Many people pay a premium rate for article distribution on their behalf, without the worry of having to join various article directory sites as a member, giving their own email address, and receiving lots of emails from various Yahoo groups.
Unfortunately what they don’t realise is that often this devalues their work.
1) In the author section on many sites, the name of the distribution service will be shown, not that of the original author.
Don’t Let the Global Village Prevent You from Sharing Your Family History with Future Generations

Don’t Let the Global Village Prevent You from Sharing Your Family History with Future Generations
by: Michele R. Acosta
There was once a time when grandparents sat amidst a group of wide-eyed grandchildren telling stories of days gone by. As the global village shrinks and families spread out across the nation and the world, the tradition of sharing family stories orally is in decline.
Oral tradition - passing stories by word of mouth - has been the primary means of sharing family histories until the very recent past. As families spread out across the globe, it is far less likely that multigenerational families will spend extended time together; however, just because the method of communication is changing, does not mean that the global village will be the death of family history.
Despite the fact that extended families are more separated than ever, modern technology narrows the communication gap caused by distance. As such, families do not have to be distant even though they live far apart.
The Psychology Of Effortless Writing

The Psychology Of Effortless Writing
by: Saleem Rana
I love writing. I love the swirl and swing of words as they tangle with human emotions. ~James Michener
Writing has always been a highly pleasurable form of art for me. I find it surprising that many people view it as something to avoid as much as possible. The most baffling thing to me is how people complain of “writer’s block.” I’ve also heard of metaphors like “squeezing blood from a stone.”
Not only is it a delicious experience to read and to write, but it’s really easy. After all, it’s talking and expressing your view of the world. Sometimes your views, like that of Nelson Mandela’s, can even change the course of history.
Through writing I can convey my entire experience so that someone else can benefit from it and learn from that experience without having had to be there. So, by writing I can give others much more than I can in person. In addition, writing bends time and I can convey my experience to someone centuries away.
Anyway my point is not to wax eloquent on the joy and gift of self-expression. Rather it is to demonstrate how easy it is to write quickly and with delight.
